3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 PapaSkeetSkeet (588) - Corvallis, Oregon, USA - OCT 4, 2010
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2010 pours gold with very fine, silky white head. Smells of apricots and funky yeast (combo of saison and chimay). Taste is of nectar (super sweet), apricots, and behind the sweetness theres a little bit of grain/cereal. Thick and syrupy, feels like it may be hiding some alcohol due to the high final gravity. Update: watch out for this one though, apparently some of the kegs are grossly under attenuated, or downright unfinished fermenting.

On tap at the ABC brewpub. Poured a deeper golden color with a small sized head. Aromas of fruitiness, yeast, and some spices. Tastes of fruits, apples, spices, and candi sugar.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 roder60 (1244) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 13, 2009
Had at the Gettysburg location. Pours a hazy coper color with medium bubbly head. Aroma is soapy and honeyish with some yeasty spiceyness. Flavor is very sweet, lots of honey flavor, orange peel, and dandelions with lots of spice in the finish. Overall, minimal balance - not my favorite.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 illinismitty (2269) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 17, 2008
Draft at Harrisburg. I am rather surprised at the low rating. Oh well, Belgians are not my forte. Pours golden amber with a white head. Aroma of lemon, wheat malt, and belgian esters. Typical belgian mouthfeel and texture. Flavor of pale wheat malt, honey, and spice. There is a decent amount of sweetness, but not overly sweet or sticky. Moderate bitterness on the finish, joined by some yeasty flavors and a hint of alcohol. I thought this was a respectable attempt at a Belgian. This reminds me of a golden triple, but with less alcohol and bite.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 3fourths (6385) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 6, 2007
Draft at the Harrisburg brewery. 30-40% opaque light orange and yellow colored body. Huge sugary nose full of perfumy, sugary soap and coriander scents with light yeast esters. Some light spicy ginger as well, but overall it does not smell good at all - plastic and sugar notes far too heavy. Sharp on the tongue, sugary and spicy, extremely cloying and oversweet, then stale and emtpy in the finish. Tastes highly alcoholic, but also full of unfermented sugars. Unclean and disorganized, and difficult to finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ungstrup (23917) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 3, 2007
Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet yeasty with strong notes of fruit. The flavor is very sweet and very fruity, with light notes of yeast mixing in as well as wood, leading to a dry end with the woody notes lingering around. The body is thick.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 3, 2006
On tap at Gettysburg location, July 2006. After developing a theme of subtlety in the previous few beers in the sampler, we returned to an earlier theme - namely sweetness - with this one. Too much sweetness for me. Other might see it differently. Hazy orange colour. Heavily spiced, Belgian tripel style with bags of Curacao and orange peel in evidence. This added a touch of sharp bitterness but, all in all, the overriding sweetness detracted from my enjoyment. So, overall, a slight disappointment.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nejhleader (1003) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 30, 2006
stumbled across this downtown h-burg at McGraths, which is odd because neither ABC location had it in when I went there. fairly sweet, and fruity.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kramer (3454) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2006
On tap, Gettysburg location. Pours a cloudy, deep orange body under a small off-white creamy head. Aroma is full of fruity esters, some banana, yeast, belgian spices. Not too far off from their Hefe, but with more of a malty base. Flavor is very sweet with tons of fruitiness, some clove, and maybe grains of paradise? Finish is sticky and has lots of lingering sweetness with a touch of red delicious apples. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and chewy with a cloying stickiness. Overall, pretty decent, but way too sweet for my tastes.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5919) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 28, 2005
Orangey-amber, light white ring. Slight tartness hit up the nose and contrasts the biscuity maltiness, fairly toasty. Nice orange flavors, tropical juice and flowery southern flavors. gentle yeasty presence. Soft carbonation, light bodied, not very dry. Good.
