Medium sized light tan head with good retention and a fair lace. Murky, copper/orange colored brew. Nose of stale hops, mint, lil must and some sweet malts. Medium bodied, bit oily, soft carbonation and a hint astringent. Sweet malts up front, caramel, followed by some moulded hop flavors, ice tea notes and a heavy grassy, silage notes. Sorta dry finish with no real bitterness to speak of. I knew better. Bomber from statelineliquors.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an orange-brick into the glass, with a light frothy head that reduces to a tiny ring of bubbles, leaving mild soap lacing. The nose is of floral hops. Flavors are nicely balanced between caramel malt and peppering Cascade bitters, light candied citrus and finishes with a resinous pine. The mouthfeel is oily and a tad sticky to the palate. It has a semi-full body and is nicely drinkable, with appropriate carbonation to actively balance the quaff. A nice take on the Impy IPA, and although not over the top, my favorite offering so far from the Appalachian Brewing Company.

Cooper, nice head, cask. Smooth. Not too floral. This is solid. Different kind of dipa. Alcohol hiding. Very enjoyable, not excellent but good. Not agressive at all.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Not last season’s double IPA. Understated aroma and hop taste MASKS high alcohol content. Much easier drinking than previous incarnations. Still satisfying caramel and clove taste with little astringency. On draught.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from State Line. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee malts, candied citrus, brown sugar, toasted notes. The taste is toffee malts, bitter citrus hops. Medium bodied. Decent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle from Wegmans, King of Prussia, PA. A slightly hazy amber with a billowing cream head; the aroma has pine and citrus hops aplenty; the taste is rather mellow with fruity hops and some carmael malts; then the hops slowly build to give a clean, crisp, bitter, finish; leaving a pleasing warmth in the stomach. Rather good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 ounce bottle. Bright orange copper color topped by a thick creamy beige head. Wonderful biscuit malty aroma mixed with a floral hop nose. Sweet toasted malt flavor balance by a healthy dose of hops. Sweet caramel, sea salt and black pepper on the palate. Lots of hops here but not really in the same league with Green Flash, Stone and other West Coast 2XIPA’s. Very enjoyable, a nice effort.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours with a copper color and has good clarity.
Pours with a white foamy head but has a loose soapy structure and leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma was a bit disappointing in that the hop bouguet that was expected simply was not there. Instead it appears this beer mellowed and had a more amber bouguet. Light of hops and a more pronounced caramel malts.
Ditto taste. Hops are light and lean to floral, pehaps a tad of citrus too. Malts seem balanced with caramel and some bread crust. This beer has a medium mouthfeel and is smooth on the palette. Bitterness lingers into the aftertaste. Avg. carbo’s.
This beer really didn’t stand out for me. Good yes, but nothing to separate it from the pack.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
i wonder if this was an old bottle as the hops were really subdued. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium caramel color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, moderate pine and grapefruit. The flavor was tangy caramel and nut with notes of grapefruit, pine and black tea. Medium length sour and tangy finish with lingering nut, caramel and hops. Medium body. Ok.
