Bomber. Pours a clear dark copper with a tall active slightly off-white head that lasts long and laces very well. The aroma is simple, and somewhat faint for the abv. Pale malt with some pine hops, but not much complexity in either. Smells like a good normal pale ale actually. The flavor is nice, but not what I look for in an IIPA. There is a definite resinous, lasting bitterness, and piny hops. But, it is equal malt as hop. It tastes more like many brewing companies’ interpretation of "Imperial Red" or "Imperial Pale Ale." Regardless, it is tasty. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Overall: good beer, but not an outstanding IIPA.

i wonder if this was an old bottle as the hops were really subdued. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium caramel color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, moderate pine and grapefruit. The flavor was tangy caramel and nut with notes of grapefruit, pine and black tea. Medium length sour and tangy finish with lingering nut, caramel and hops. Medium body. Ok.

Hazy orange in color with a thin off white head. Smells heavy of malts with some flowers, grass and hops in the aroma as well. I can taste the grass! Bit hoppy.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Norm’s, 3/22/12

Aroma: The nose has some floral hops, booze, a little bit pine and earth, and a touch of orange
Appearance: Pours a cloudy dark orange-brown color with a small off-white head and medium lace
Flavor: The taste is mostly sweet and sticky, with quite a bit of booze, and a little bit of hop bitterness
Palate: It is medium bodied, the feel up-front it is a little sticky, later is gets drier and hot for an 8% beer
Overall Impression: I wasn’t really impressed with this one. Personally, I didn’t get nearly enough hops here. There wasn’t really any resin or citrus, and there was way too much heat for an 8% DIPA. I just couldn’t get over that weird, dry-hot finish. It didn’t go over well. Maybe if this was a 12% Barleywine I would have liked it better, but as a DIPA, It just didn’t really work...

This is a damn fantastic IIPA!! I am very impressed with this; absolutely awesome!! The beer pours a clear and brilliant dark golden color with a substantial tan head. The head leaves some nice sticky and cascading lace around the glass. The nose is well-balanced with a ton of spicy and citrusy hops. I also got a little earth and fresh-baked bread in the aroma. The body is incredibly smooth and drinkable. The flavors are also extremely well-balanced, with a ton of spicy and dry hop flavor. I got some notes of grapefruit, orange peel, coriander, lemon, lime, earth, light rye bread and a hint of alcohol. The finish is semi-dry with more dry and spicy hop flavor. This is a really incredible IIPA! I’ll be hitting up either the restaurant in Collegeville or the Wegmans bottle shop for more!

Deep chestnut color with an off-white head, seems off for style, but it’s nice looking. Hop aroma is minimal, and it’s rather malty. Tastes like a defanged DFH 90Min. $15 pitcher

22 oz bomber from Blue Dog Pub in Lansdale. Poured a great lloking rust colored amber body with a large full frothy off white head. Aroma was nice that has a lovely hop syrup sweetness, flowers, honey topped bread, citrus and candy. Full chewy body with soft carbonation and not much of an aftertaste or finishing bite, no trace of ABV on this one. Flavor unfortunately doesnt have the sweetness but more of a vegetable touch. Notes of dry grainy toast, green veggies, dry hops. Although the flavor drops off this is still a solid beer.

Bottle from a trade with watson1977. Pours hazy dark burnt orange color with off white head. Big caramel aroma with some pine and grapefruit. Sweet caramel flavor with faint hoppiness. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Thanks Kerry.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, caramel, and slight hops. Poured amber in color with a small, rocky, creamy, off-white/tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Very sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of malt, caramel, and slight hops. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, caramel, and hint of hop finish. Where are all of the hops???
