Nejhleader (791), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 18, 2005 very simliar to ABC’s stout. Not as dry or as dark. More of a roast to it, more flavor overall. A slightly above average porter.
ryan (1707), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Mar 2, 2008 Clear brown body with a small beige head. The nose is roast, coffee, chocolate and light molasses. Fairly dry taste with roast, chocolate, light raisins and molasses. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation. acrdz (4406), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 16, 2008 Draft @ Camp Hill. Rich, dark brown colored body with some dark walnut brown light at the top and sides. Chocolate malts heavy in the nose, and overall the smell is rich and sweet, with notes of chocolate syrup, crtusty, bready malts (but not toasty), and some lighter notes of cheese funk/yeast which probably aren’t meant to be smelled. Frothy, moderately thick/regular texture for a porter, with that godawful resinous/oily quality that you find in almost every ABC beer. Semi-sweet twang of chocolate syrup sweetener in the finish. A pretty basic porter, but nothing to turn your nose up at. The_Captain (339), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 27, 2008 On tap at ABC. Dark brown to black, not sure if I picked up on the red hue, looks good though. Poured with a small off white head that went away quickly, although a bit hung around through the end. Well balanced port with a malt roast, rather tasty. Nice dry finish no after taste, smooth. Kinz (1917), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Dec 12, 2006 Thanks to Maniac for the sample. Growler. Medium brown, medium level aroma of chocolate. Balanced flavors of chocolate and coffee. Not groundbreaking, but well done. Good stuff. starfireming (309), Richmond, Virginia, USA Dec 7, 2006 Rich dark body with a frothy tan head. Caramel malts, thick, refreshing, delicious. Strongly approve of this one.
