22oz. Bottle (at 4.6%ABV per the Bottle).: Aroma of espresso, roasting, and cream. Poured pitch black in color with a tiny, tan head that disappeared quickly, except for around the edges. Opaque. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is slightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of a perfect cup of coffee; espresso, cream, lactose, and roasting. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Espresso, lactose, roast finish is lightly dry. Is this coffee or beer?

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cakes (306) - New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. This is real.
You could have this for breakfast with an egg Mcmuffin.
Pours a deep black with a medium sized beige head. Lovely coffee aromas. Smells like an iced coffee. Roast and malt, lightly sweet, oatmeal. Smooth and gentle roast coffee, long and smooth bitterness. Lovely lingering coffee flavors on the finish. The best brew on my 8 brew sampler that day.

Dark rootbeer color3.5/5
Lots of coffee aroma.. Cream, roast 7/10
Flavor seems a little sour... the way strong coffee is sour....Mixed w/ coffee, cola, wet wood, cream, light ash and some cherryish fruit. 7/10
Thin and crazy quaffable. 4
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DocLock (6789) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 8, 2011
Draft at Collegeville. Poured onyx with brown head. The nose was espresso, patent malt. Had a huge coffee flavor, with a flavor that reminded me somewhat of the Bell’s Java coffee/jalapeno oil taste, with copious amounts of malt to balance. Stays heavy on the coffee, with backup hops and a bitterness that will cause me to warm coffee haters to stay far away from this.

Pours black with a thin brown head. I let it sit for an hour so the flavors just pop out. Coffee dominates on the palate and thickens it as well. This beer you could almost eat. And at less than 5% alcohol you could session with it.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2011 This is Susquehanna Stout blended with strong coffee brewed from an espresso bean blend (not real espresso which requires brewing under pressure) in a ratio that is the equivalent of one shot of espresso-coffee to one pint of beer. While Susquehanna Stout already has significant coffee-like characteristics as a dry stout, the espresso version makes it less dry, and also gives it a much rounder flavor as well as the illusion of a bigger body ( I find a light body to be a defining trait in the normal stout). Very good flavor, the coffee makes it a whole different beer.

On tap, at brewery. Pitch black pour with a small wispy covering of brown head. The nose is more coffee than beer with lots of roastiness. Very thick and rich aroma. Nice citrusy espresso coffee flavor dominates the beer up front, fading to a moderately bitter finish. Nice clingy coffee finish with moderate fizzy carbonation. A little thin, but the coffee compensates. Pretty good as a coffee vehicle, but not the best beer.

ABC really improved this brew by adding espresso to it. Aroma is slightly roasted malts. Good body, Has a nice espresso kick to it, to add to the sweet and caramel taste.
