Sampled at 4th NoVA Summer Brewfest. Pours clear amber-brown with a medium, fizzy off-white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, toast, bread), average hops (earthy, woody), and average esters (fruity) with notes of dates. Flavor is malty with light hop support. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth and a dry finish.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin creamy offwhite head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of faint chocolate and roasty notes with a tinny hop note. The taste is bitter leafy hops and faint chocolate malts. Watery and thin. Definitely needs improvement.

Theydon_Bois (8081) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2013
Tap at Appalachian, Collegeville, 29/11/13. Dark mahogony brown. Nose is caramel, brown sugars, dark malt notes, pinch of cocoa powder. Taste comprises cake mix, brown sugar, dark toffee fudge. Medium body, fine carbonation, dry finale with a sweet note or two. So - so, drinkable and representative of a dull style in my opinion - others are of course are available !
