Volks Weizenbock combines the strong malty component of a bock bier with the tangy, spiciness of the Hefe Weizen. This beer is brewed 1 1/2 times stronger than our Hefe Weizen and is aged commensurately longer for extra smoothness! Volks Weizenbock is "The Peoples Beer"!

Beautiful preserved amber color with brownish flair and a frost covering. The nose is a sweet concoction of mild clove phenols and wheat. Full, wheaty body, rather sweet, but the moderate cloviness helps moderate this. A thoroughly solid weizenbock.

22 oz. bottle. Dark brown color, very little head or retention. Nose is real similar to caramel covered banana’s. The flavor is sweet and malty with a banana nut bread type flavor. Also some assertive fruitiness that has notes of apples and clove. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and some Earthy malt tones. Yeah… not bad at all yet somehow forgettable.

Bottle shared by irishboy. Pours hazy, dark, slightly ruddy, amber. Aroma suggests old/aged malt with light fruits. Med body. Flavor is malty, fruity, esters, with a suggestion of wood. Just less than dry, but neither too sweet or too bitter.

Bomber from TheEpeesist. Nose is fruity with a funny pineapple guava, way overripe banana, apple note, mixed with a sweet coffee note. Lightly hazy copper with a small pale beige head. Flavor is fruity with a light cloves note, and toffee and a hint of bitterness.

Pours a deep caramel-amber into the glass, with a fully diminished head that leaves no ring nor lacing of which to speak. The nose is doughy and malty. Flavors are similar, light caramel, lots of sourdough, a hint of tannins, and finishing with crisp carbonation and a lingering sour cherry. The mouthfeel is medium and semi-active, with a juice-like texture. Not bad, but somewhat forgettable.

22 oz bottle, love the label. Hazed cola brown with a spongy oatmeal head. Nose is candied walnuts, grape, dates and banana. Medium body with a lively tingle. Taste is green banana, clove and burnt sugar. OK for the style but nothing to bring me back.

Bottle. Wheat and clove aroma. Hazy dark amber body. Flavor begins with wheat and subtle sweetness, followed by clove, spice and fruit. Malt finish. Very smooth and well balanced. Alcohol is well hidden and tastes much lighter than the actual abv.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2013 Ruby brown, aroma is strong sweet and spicy. Cloves banana and some caramel malt sweetness. Nicely carbonated. Banana sweetness blends nicely with the malt sweetness. Spicy finish to balance out the sweet sticky flavors. Like this style and this beer.

Draft at the gettysburg local. Pours a clear reddish brown, and an off-white head. Banana, wheat, bubble gum, light spice, and sugary sweetness. Thin-medium body. I don’t like this style very much, and I didn’t like this beer very much.
