Commercial Description:
A naturally cloudy wheat beer with a subtle sweetness of ripe apples. The serving ritual - half-fill glass, then swirl bottle and top-up glass - this gives the beer its full palette of flavours and unique cloudiness.

Tap: yeasty, some woody notes, some earthy notes, weak sourness but mainly it’s dominated by suger and apples, quite thin mouthfill.

Interesting little beer, if you can call it that. The apple is not at all subtle, it tastes more like a sweet cider than a cloudy wheat beer. Nothing offensive, but I wouldn’t go for it again.

Bottle I bought for KP but got drunk when I cleared the house of alcohol one night. A lot better than I thought. I don’t like apples or fruit beer. Smells very sweet and tart but isn’t really. Erm...apples...not that bad.

Cask at The Rake. Very cloudy pale white beer. Thin head. Aroma is quite spicy and wheaty with a strong distinct apple sweetness. A bit of coriander citrus as well. Flavour is much more apply that the aroma suggested. Very fresh apple and light clove/allspice apple pie sweetness along with a soft citrusy tartness. The aroma is quite similar to the Ephemere Apple but the flavour here is more cidery. Soft fruitiness and a lingering perfumey sweetness as well. It is quite unique and I think it works pretty well.

Hazy pale yellow colour, big foamy head. Aroma has cinnamon, apple juice and sugar. Heavily perfumed flavour has sweet apple, cinnamon, a bit soapy. Bad.

Bottle, thx to Tarjei. A unclear, yellow drink with a small white head. Citrusy, apple aroma with cinnamon and some white sugar. The first flavor detected is the cinnamon, which also lasts all the way into the finish, but there’s also apple and hints of witbier. Sticky, medium mouthfeel. Apple and the already mentioned cinnamon in the finish. An odd beer, drinkable, but too sweet to have refreshing qualities. (080731)
