jredmond (573), New Jersey, USA Mar 14, 2008 Updated: May 5, 2008 I pint on draft at the Queens Arms in Kensington, London. I went into this thinking I would love this beer - reading the reviews that described it as a wheat beer mixed with a fruit (apple) beer. I was really disappointed though, not because it was terrible, but because it wasn’t incredible, and I feel like it could very well be. The body is cloudy like a wheat beer accompanied by a frothy white (half inch) head. The aroma is wheat and apple. Amazing at this point. The taste is too sweet. Past reviewers have mentioned an excess of "syrupy" flavor and I agree. If they toned down the syrupy sweetness of this beer it could be amazing. Obviously it doesn’t even taste like a beer, hence the 3.1%. But I could see this as one of my top ten if they jacked up the alcohol and got rid of the sweetness.
gam (445), brisbane, Australia Jun 21, 2008 Large frothy head on a good yellow pour, some brisk carbonation rising.Aroma, cinnamon, apple, orange peel, malty note, nutmeg.Flavour apple sweetness, woody sensation, cinnamon, orange marmalade.Woody taste gives it a nice edge, spicey, nutmeg like.Finish, sweet woody taste dry. yespr (5258), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 12, 2008 RB BE #800: 25 cL bottle. Pours murky orange with a bubblye white head. Spiced and yeasty apple aroma. Mouthfeel is flat. Flavour is mild spiced and with a light applenote to a strange wheat/spelt like base. Holds a distinct spice note. Ends medium to light acidic apple flavoured. Strange and nothing I could drink much of. bhensonb (2670), Woodland, California, USA Jun 3, 2008 25 cl bottle. Ritual observed. Hazy gold color with a sturdy beige/tan head. Aroma is apple, but a bit soapy. Medium body with creamy fizzy carbonation. Flavor is apple, but there’s something soapy/odd here. Sweet juice/bitter skin. It’s not really working well for me. It might be great except for that soapy aspect. Which seems to be wearing off with time. Still, not the best experience. The post-finish feel is not all that bad. Rune (1491), Tromsø, Norway May 20, 2008 250ml bottle. Disgusting hazy, yellow body. White ring of bubbles on the surface. Sugar sweet aroma. Bittersweet taste of apples. Very sweet. More a soft drink than a serious beer (shared with Finn, Tromsø 16.05.2008). Finn (1030), Tromsø, Norway May 19, 2008 Bottle 0,25l. Yellowish golden colored. Unclear. A shortlived white head. Sweet aroma and flavor of apple. Sparkling. Hints of paint in the aftertaste. Not good at all. KI=2
