Draught - The White Lion, Norwich. A hazy orange cider with minimal head, Quite a deep sourness on the nose, all sour, stewed apples and oak. Again, pretty damn tangy on the palate; a mouth-drying apply tartness backed by woody notes and a subtle sweet sugary note. Finished with a light bitter fruit skin note. Medium body, soft & smooth mouthfeel with a lingering tanginess.

Quoth Anna: Light and hazy. Real appleas all of teh aroma. Slightly dry, but not at all puckery. Fairly mellow. Pear finish, almost pear grit. Phil doesn’t disagree.

Cask@GBBF2011. Hazy golden colour, not much head. Aroma is apples, yeast, herbs, some slight wooden juice and mild sulphury notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Also has some slight winelike notes and metal in the finish.

Undoubtedly the best named beverage at the 2011 GBBF. And fairly tasty as well, with an aroma of fresh apple skins and taste of dried fruit.
