Feb 24, 2008 Bottle (2000)... VBWT2008... Almost colorless (ultra-light straw) with decent legs. Orange blossoms, wild flowers and ethanol dominate the nose with only a rumor of menthol thrown into the mix. Full-bodied, syrupy and a touch oily. Very, very sweet and alcoholic, but, relatively speaking, not at all bad considering the 20% ABV in this monster. The finish is all sweet and heat. Very nice! Thanks to TheCheeseMan for always providing a “non-traditional” or two to add even more variety to our Orlando Crew tastings!

May 23, 2008 750ml bottle @Vero Beach Throwdown-pours no head and hazy straw color. Aroma is fermented apples, alcohol. Taste is apple, honey, sugar. Slightly slick mouth feel. Alcohol well hidden, warms going down. Thanks to Thecheeseman for sharing.

May 27, 2008 Bottle (750ml - clear & corked). At 2nd Annual Summer Saison Tasting - my bottle via trade with Matt7215. Have to say it didn’t start out weel - that’s NOT an appealing pour - wan, watery light gold, no head, not much legging. But - mmmm - woody, musty not too sweet aroma of honey and hazelnuts. The taste is where this really shines - perfumed honey and clover, rosehips and orange blossoms, delicate and smooth with just a hint of oak. Light bodied, like thin syrup, no harshness at all, and extremely muted alcohol - the primary finish on the palate is floral honey, reminded me of the orange blossom honey we used to buy in Florida, with a hint of nutty wood in the last gasp on the tongue. Really f’in good - we had fairly large pours out of this bottle, and many of us were seriously digging it. Probably my tipple of the tasting.

May 28, 2008 2005-05-24. Lightly hazy pastel yellow body. Sweet honey aroma gives way to moderate alcohol presence. (7+) Sweet honey in the flavour is simple but rather pleasant, alcohol warms the throat quite heavily but is not particularly noticeable in the flavour. (7+) Smooth medium bodied palate. Jun 3, 2008 Bottle (750ml) shared at ’Biegaman’s Second Annual Saison Tasting’ -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. 2000 vintage. Pours a hazy, light, light, light gold with no head. Strong aroma of alcohol, sweet honey, apples and wood. Strong boozy honey flavour, sweet and woody along with some spices and apples. Medium bodied. Good but I don’t love it, a small sample is definitely all you want -- very sweet and very boozy. Maybe meads aren’t my thing?
