on tap at the aqula brauhaus in akita. faintly hazy yellow with a pikelet head and a fresh and grassy aroma with hints of pine. quite dry and quick - firm texture with some faint vanilla and modest bitterness. subtle and well-made

Draught at the brewpub. This may be a different beer than what earlier raters have tried. It is now basically a replacement for their Helles. Slightly dark golden color with a thin, fine head. Nice biscuit malt aroma, low hops, very rich malt. Sweet, malty flavor. Low hops yet retrained sweetness. A good authentic helles. Proper palate with a nice dry finish and just enough hops.

A bottle conditioned lager containing hop polyphenols. A medium/dark golden color with a off-white head. Clear till you add in the goodness of the dregs. Has a sharp hop scent that reminds me of Bitberger with rounder, fuller malt like a Bohemian Pils. Has a soft yet full malt flavor, very similar to a Bohemian or Czech pils. Mild grainy sweetness in the follow and a short-lived, soft bitter aftertaste. Another reason I will miss northern Japan!
