Very metallic malt aroma with some caramel tones. The taste is sweet, malty and a little spirituous.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011
Trinkbarer Bock ohne Besonderheiten. 9/8/9/9/6/9

Maria (8571) - Thisted, DENMARK - DEC 26, 2009
It’s warm golden with a huge, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of malt, alcohol and light fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, light fruit and caramel and the alcohol is also a clear note in the finish.

trapez (1352) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - DEC 4, 2009
Bottle. MAlt aroma with some flowers, very springlike. Clear light amber colour with white head. Sweet flavour, slightly fruity. Low to moderate carbonation. Refreshing but not surprising despite the quote about attending a battle where the enemy already has left the battlefield. There are no battles in this brew, but a nice peaceful aroma of flowers.

KM (250) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 23, 2009
Bottle. Medium golden body. Small white head. Light alcohol-like aroma, and some other unpleasant smell that I can’t describe. Heavy malty flavour, dry sweet alcohol flavour. Some soap too. Not very pleasant bitter finish. (Påland, 14.07.09)

FatPhil (6205) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 19, 2009
330ml bottle (Systembolaget, Stockholm)
Rich amber, brief head. Metallic and slightly sweet aroma, also some pencil sharpenings. Soft carbonation, smooth palate, some sweet fruity esters in the retronasals, accompanied by what is initially quite a simple malty bocky taste. Alas very quickly a massive wave of pencil sharpenings kicks in, and I mean total and utter pencil sharpenings, nothing more - yikes. Finish has a reasonable roast, and a dry bitterness, with some harking back to the pencil sharpenings. Better than I was expecting, and nearly worthy of the name bock. In the end, it’s perhaps more of an malt-heavy ESL.

Nisse666 (2176) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 4, 2009
Bottle, 2009-05-21, Göteborg - 2009 version! AP:Brown metallic, heavy head AR: F: Fudge, brule pudding, bitterness, nutty, honey, alcohol (covering the spirits to 95% - storing needed?) AF: some caramel, and bitterness! Wonder why all was so negative towards this that were the better one of two to Arboga that were released at the same date!
