Keg at the Euston Tap - London. Pours oily black with pretty much no head. Big, thick, with light tangy dark fruits, lots of raisins and liquefied berries. Full bodied with fine, soft carbonation. Lots of ripe fruits and oily chocolate on the finish, mild alcohol. Just super rich yet still drinkable. Dangerously drinkable. I like it.

Keg at the Hope, Carshalton 24/7/14. Pours black with a minimal white head. Aroma of red wine, sweet taste, alcohol burn.

Theydon_Bois (9912) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2014
Keg at CASC, Aberdeen, 20/06/14. Black with a moderately appointed dirty tan swirl. Nose is herbal, liqourice, medicinal ring, dark fruit, spice, rich malt, fruit cake mix. Taste comprises dark fruits, chocolate, booze, leather, spice, plummy depths, dates, tobacco. Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming booze with medicinal pangs in the close. Ok for the ABV but not one I’d head back to, lacks any great depth and a little too hot.

laidbackbloke (59) - Warsaw, POLAND - MAY 1, 2014
On tap at the Three Tuns, Bristol Apr 2014. I rate this one as an imperial stout as I detected some recognizable characteristics of one. Pungent scent of roasted and toasted malts, red wine, oxidization. Leather aromas around. Comforting boozy hint. Engine oil-like thick, leaves a long cherished aftertaste.

Beese (2550) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2014
Draught at the Euston Tap, London on 28 March 2014. Poured black with a very small amount of beige head. Aroma of almonds, oak, sticky fruit and booze. Initial flavours were warming alcohol, toffee, straw and some citrus. Finish was liquorice, cloves and roasted malt.

On tap at Euston Tap. Black no head. Liquorice aroma. Neither a belgian strong as advertised nor a barley wine that Ken said it was. Mild liquorice and some spice aroma. It’s ok.

Cask conditioned at The Three Tuns, Bristol. Black with cream head. Masses of liquorice, tarmacadam and fruity notes along with a slightly spicy chilli note. The yeast notes do fight their way through bringing a little lightness but overall it is mostly about the darkly roasted malts. Phew.

Keg @ Euston Tap. Why oh why did I order half a pint of this at the end of the night? 13% Imperial black saison?! Pours a menacing black with a brief head, strong boozy aroma with a slick barley wine feel. Sweet fruits with an alcoholic tartness and tangy liquorice. Struggled to finish due to strength.

Keg at the Euston tap. Oily black pour with a fleeting tan head. Aroma is Belgian raisin nutty malt, booze, vanilla and oak. Flavour is sweet raisin, light tart berry, some sweet boozy oak stuff. Very drinkable for the abv.. Like spice in the back of the throat.

Euston Tap. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, no real head. The palate is quite viscous and semi dry but retains a lightness thanks to a little crispy carbonation. Marmite sourness and tangy dark fruits. Touches of dark chocolate, candy sweet floralness, mocha and soy. Finishes suprisingly light and crisp. Tasty enough but not singing.
