Pours black with a cocoa head. The aroma is fresh brewed coffee with a sweet maple smell. The taste is like the best coffee I’ve ever had. Outstanding

330ml bottle at home watching The World’s Strongest Man Final 2015. As ’Arbor & Moor Double Dark Alliance’, 9.2%, BB July 2017. Nice to catch up with this one. Black, decent foamy brown head, thick lacing. Aroma is roast malt, chocolate, pine, earthy, floral hops. More hoppy than coffee. Nice. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is smooth malt and coffee, salty, pretty hoppy floral and pine flavours. Not getting a lot of coffee from this, and it could pass for a BIPA. An enjoyable beer.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2015 Beautiful beautiful looking beer. Stunning rich dark mocha tan head on black. Medium bodied and heady. Very bitter dark roast coffee earth and ash. Bit austere and linear without much juice or sap. Bags of individuality and definition. Very special.

Bottle from beerhive. Black, good foamy tan head. Ashy charcoal and hold nose, toasted coffee. Medium full body, soft fizz. Dark fruit and full on coffee. Really really dry. Bitter and charcoally but pretty decent.

Oh my goodness, what a fantastic beer. A 330ml bottle. Pours black, with a deep brown frothy/creamy head, fairly persistent. Nose is beautiful, fresh mocha coffee plus creamy nutty chocolate. Palate is sweet coffee, treacle toffee, bitter hoppy finish. Then tobacco, some green tangy hop notes. Great finish & aftertaste. I want to do a head to head, but for now I’m going to put my neck out and say that this stuff is better than Founders KBS. Awesome beer.

Bottled. Old note. The aroma has roast, chocolate, spicy/herbal hops. Black coloured beer with a medium, tan head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, roasty, has some coffee, grassy hops. Nice one.

Aroma is rich, egg whites, dusty peppery coffee. Quite something. Lovely full brown head medium-fine bubbly like the surface of a mini Sun but the majority dissipates fairly quickly. Colour of the beer is opaque very dark brown. Flavour is peppery, followed by molasses, coffee and a thick richness with burnt notes and hints of dark raw chocolate. Really thick mouthfeel supported by a good level of carbonation. Excellent brew and one of the best coffee infused beers I’ve tried.

In the mouth: liquorice, coffee, bitter chocolate. Almost salty taste and a little of spicy pepper at the end. Nose: liquorice and coffee. Dark foam, when poured you can see different levels of brown foam. From light brown @ the top to dark brown. Really very nice and a good surprise. Drunk @ Sciolé in Pescara IT
