MBGSF ’10. Apple pie, light cherry and spice nose. Taste is moderately tart, lightly sweet, lots of cherry and apple, some caramel. Very nice, the best of their sour power hour.

Draft… RBSG/MBGSF 2010… Murky, caramel-colored ale with little to no head. The nose is fruity, floral and a touch funky. Medium to full-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. The flavor is well-bittered; a little too bitter for me. Great tartness to go along with that woody, abrasive bitterness. Finishes crisp, bitter and tangy… then dries way out.

Sampled on tap at the MiBGSM ’10 (Ypsilanti, MI). Pours a lightly hazed reddish brown hue, a small offwhite head sits atop and dies to small film, light lacing. Aromas are tart fruitiness, citrus and stone fruits, with bready malts, biscuits, a light dry and dusty brettiness. Light oak, vanilla, touch of acidity. Initial is light tartness, fruits, biscuity and bready malts, a touch of dryness in the finish, light brett. Either underdone or too vague for me. Earthy malt body, touch of herbal, light fruity and sour qualities, dry brett and bit of a bland finish. Meh.

Sampled at the 2010 MBGSF. Poured very hazy amber orange with a near white head that dissipated to the edges. Flavor was a combination of floral, light fruit and sour fruit notes. Flavor was similar with a sour start with some growing funk and floral notes for a more balanced finish.

Pouring at the Michigan Brewers Festival during RBSG. Pours a hazed ruby brown. Light sour and tangy character. Acid and a little bit nutty. The acid is quite nice on here. Finishes up with a bit of malt.

sour version sampled at MBSF.... poured a hazy reddish brown with a thin off-white head... somewhat similar nose to demetrius with a dry earthy nose with a fair bit of tart fruit... flavors are semi-sweet fruits with a soft tartness. a little bit more of that earthiness. average body and mouthfeel. better than the previous.

Sour version, on tap at MBGSF 2010. Dark, reddish amber. Almost no head. Tangy, citrus aroma, a little vinegar. Flavor is quite sour, a nicely clean sour. Fruity. Nice stuff.
