COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
Originally intended as a summer beer, we decided to brew this one all year as it went down so well. Starting with low colour Maris Otter and wheat malts in the mash, we then add a small percentage of cara malt to add body and impart a slightly sweet caramel taste. During the boil we use three very different hops to produce the complex flavour and aroma. The result is a premium blonde ale packed with flavour.

Gentle nose with some orange peel, some candy and some herb garden leaves in autumn. Pours a slightly lifeless deep gold. Flavour is more golden ale than blonde - the wheat is barely detectable. A good finishing bitterness rounds it off but not much happens before this. Fine and fair but not up with much of the rest of what this exceptional brewery are producing.

Cask - Euston Tap, London. A clear golden yellow beer with a medium-sized creamy, mostly lasting & lacing white head. Good citrus and pale malts all round with a subtle floral edge. Bittersweet in the finish; well balanced, remaining crisp and quaffable throughout. A light dryness on the palate. Light to medium body, soft palate texture with a delicate spritz and a low intensity, medium length hoppy finish.

Lovely subtle dryness, with fruit notes, picked up some raspberry. Earthy, full flavoured, beautiful pale appearance.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear yellow-gold with a soft, white foam head. Crispy straw in the nose, some biscuits. Light to medium sweet flavor with dry grains, crunchy straw, hay, toasty grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Semi-sticky, very dry finish with touches of lemon rind. Lots of dry and crispy straw, some fresh dandelions. Thirst quenching. Good.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrusy fruits as well as lighter notes of malt and flowers.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Northants Beer Festival 2011. A blonde beer with whitish bubbles of head. Some citrus sting on the aroma but it’s fairly restrained. Same in the mouth. Tingling bitterness. Decent but unexceptional.

On cask (gravity dispense) at Great British Beer Festival, day 3 on 6 August 2009. Attractive bright gold colour. Clean, with some citrus. Decent enough but I thought it could use more hops.
