COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gorgeous copper-orange ale. Rich, enticing aroma of oranges and lemongrass. Crisp and refreshing on the palate. A perfect blend of malt, spice and sweet & zesty hints of citrus. Nestled between beer-loving Germany and wine-loving France, for centuries Belgium has produced some of the most interesting, complex, sophisticated, and delicious styles the beer world has to offer. Brasserie Blonde pays homage to this grand tradition. We brew the Blonde with a unique blend of rich malts, sweet orange peel, spicy hops, and zesty coriander. The result is a medium-bodied ale bursting with flavor. This is truly a beer-lover’s champagne (or a champagne-lover’s beer!). It is a dry, slightly tart ale subtly spiced with orange peel and coriander for a zesty taste with hints of sweet and tangy citrus.

On tap at the brewpub. Aroma a skanky clouded spice mangle, with frothy soap and tangy barn. It doesn’t really have a sense of infection, just bad ingredients, bad spicing and bad brewing. Pours a deep amber (blond?) with no carb and no head. Flavor is a scary acidic body, with flagrant cold cool weird malt. Heavily goaty, barnyardy, and curdled spice. Why am I rating this so high? It can’t possibly even be in the style realm. So maybe it is infected. Whatever it’s terrible as it carries a reeking aftertaste of clammy fire and old dill spice. Unique in many horrible ways.

Bottle in Detroit. Cloudy, darkish orange appearance with a cream colored head. Fairly spicy, lemongrass, orange citrusy, slightly tangy aroma. Weird, tangy, somewhat spicy yeasty, lemongrass, orange citrusy, tangy flavor. Not enjoyable at all.

12oz bottle from The Beer Depot in Ann Arbor, MI. Pours a cloudy, slightly deeper orange-gold colored body with a thin, frothy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is pretty citrusy with a bit of a tart yeastiness and a touch of wheat malts. Flavor is similar. Citrusy and somewhat tart up front with some lemons, a very light grass, and a touch of wheat. A bit of an orange peel comes out towards the end as this dries with a nice citrus flavor and a bit of a wheat zest. There is definitely a touch of coriander spice, but not a lot. Medium length aftertaste following a light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, I don’t know about the saison classification, but for a blonde, this was okay. Distinct citrus with some lemon and orange peel alongside a light wheat and hint of coriander spice. Definitely nothing exceptional, but not bad.

The beer foamed to the top when the bottle was opened, poured murky gold amber with lots of floaties, sweet fruit, faint pineapple, citrus and pine fragrances, some yeast, very sweet pale malt in the nose, candy apple and Friendship cake fragrances, sweet pale malt taste, some hop bite on the tongue, a tanginess lingers in the mouth, sweet and sour with every drink, there are some flavors of orange, grapefruit and lemon, lots of carbonation on the palate, very nice.

This is not what I expected from the name. Surprisingly dark, definitely spicy nose. A little sweet, but really tasty.

I had this as part of a sampler. This beer slightly beat our the mild as the worst beer in a nine beer sampler. It is a super sweet pale ale, weirdy candy sugar throughtout, no hops, very light feel, not easy to drink. This is basically a train wreck, nothing at all belgian pale ale about it.

Bottle. Pours a murky apple cider color. Tons of sediment. Almost no head. No lacing. Aroma is of fruity wine. Flavor is of sweet citrus. This is a Saison??? This one had a lot of nice elements, but the flavor doesn’t really come together for me. I saw that another review described it as Champagne. I agree. It was interesting, but overall it was just an ok beer.

(bottle) clear amber colour, no ead; sweet aroma - hard candy, fruit compote; flavour is tart - like dry fruit beer - this is certainly not anything like belgian blonde ale, but good in its own right

Reviewed from notes. Pours an apricot orange with an off white head and decent lacing. Smells brings forward a bit of hops, some citrus, and generic sweetness. Fairly mild, but not bad at all. Taste is a bit too sweet. Feel is a bit thicker than I would normally expect but it works with the flavors. Drinks fairly well and was a nice starter. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-08-2010

Hazy copper brown with a fizzy head. Sweet fruity aroma with Belgian yeast notes. Good smooth fruity taste with notes of caramel and a sweet bread finish.

On tap at the Univeristy roadhouse in Kalamazoo. Medium amber brew with a thin head. Aroma is dominated by fruity hops. Mellow flavor wiht modest maltiness and nice but subdued hoppiness in the finish. What is here is good but it is rather subdued overall.
