750ml. bottle at the Arbor Brewing Company Pub & Eatery. Poured a small off-white head, no lacing, uncarbonated, cloudy, and an orange red hue. Aroma was malty and mild alcohol notes. Flavor was not good for this style of beer-sour and hoppy. Unimpressive. Tingly mouthfeel. Medium bodied.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of finely sized mostly diminishing white colored bubbles that left behind a poor lacing. The body contained no carbonation, was transparent and light orange brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of weird malts . Its mouth feel is bubbly initially tingly with a tingly palate. Its flavor contained strange malt hop notes and was not very good. not a Grand Cru per style IMHO.

Tart, apple pia aroma with a hint of cheddar. A ton of yeast and grassy notes as well. Spritzy nose. Musty lemon juice and leather shoes. Cherry and mulberry notes as well. Not enough malt. Light-bodied when compared to others in the style.

TAR (2236) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - SEP 11, 2004
Explosive cork removal. Burnished apricot. Creamy, patchy white head with plenty of pastiness. Assertive notes of musty air mixed with grassy herbs, phenolic esters, lemongrass, and plaster. Hint of nutty yeast. Quite vinous, to boot. Delicate, but lively, on the palate with a feathery spritz to the carbonation. Opens gently tart with gassy carbonation. Firm, musty mineral flavors interwoven with a brisk leafy hop edge. Chalky yeast and zippy carbonation contribute more firmness to the body. Dry finish of sour apple skins and a delayed caramelized malt emergence with fresh dates, toasted dough, and fig leaf subtleties. Phenolic belches ensue as bready malt whispers linger. Phenomenal picnic brew, as it’s perfectly tart and quenching, yet with an artisanal element to hold your attention throughout the bottle. Impressive.
