COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Brigstow is an easy drinking, tawny best bitter. The colour and malty taste come from the crystal and cara malts added to the mash. We then use all English hops in the copper - Challenger for bitterness, followed by a huge amount of Fuggles & East Kent Goldings for loads of flavour and aroma.

Cask via handpump at the CASK Pub & Kitchen on 3rd September 2011. Copper with thick off-white creamy head and some patterned lacing. Fruity and malty in the main. Some earthy pungency and plenty of soft-fruit notes. Flashes of bitterness. Bittersweet end with some "autumn leaves" scents and a light texture.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise, London. Pours clear gold with a small - but present! - white head. (It is rare to see head on a gravity pour at this pub!) Biscuity malt aroma with some delicate citrus and hay. Light to medium sweet flavor, bread, toast, doughy malts, light grass, leaves and citrus. Light bodied with fine, tickling carbonation. Clean finish, some doughy malt sugars, light bitterness. Ticks all the boxes, this one.

Cask at the Euston Tap. It pours copper, with a decent off-white head. The nose is malty, bread, floral and earth. The taste is floral, grass, hay, oily hop, toasted malt, earth and touch of honey sweetness. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Straight forward, easy drinking, but pretty unexciting.

Cask conditioned at The Jolly Brewmaster, Cheltenham. Amber with white head. Bright and really quite hoppy, this is quite intense in it’s flowery bitterness. Nice and crisp, I really enjoyed it.

Cask (handpump) at the Nags Head, Malvern Link. Copper coloured best bitter. Quite malty. Rather grainy. Some diacetyl in the flavour. Odd that as I usually pick it up stronger on the nose than the palate.

downender (4380) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2008
Cask-conditioned at The Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 4/10/08. Amber in colour with a moderate, off-white head. Aroma of chewy malts, a touch of orange fruit and floral hops. Flavour started slightly sweet, before bittering hops took over for a long finish. Good stuff and served in great condition.
