COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s brewed with corn flour, tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, onions and salt - this beer is a fiesta in a glass. The base is a medium-bodied golden lager with a pronounced but well-integrated salsa taste resulting in a deliciously unique and drinkable brew 5.7% ABV 20 IBU and yes, it really is made with chips and salsa.

On tap. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma is very unique with peppers, corn and tomato present, it really actually smells like chips and salsa. Flavor also amazingly tastes like chips in salsa with notes of salt, corn and pepper on the tongue. Bizarre to say the least.

On tap at the Hopcat. I like chips and salsa, and I do like beer and have enjoyed them on occasion together. Mixing them into one is an interesting idea but the results don’t quite pan out. Clear pale yellow with next to no head. Aroma of corn, tortilla, garlic and a bit of fruit, probably tomatoes. Taste of corn, sweet malt, tomatoes and spice with a corn chip finish. Um, no.

I love chips and salsa, and this beer is delicious. It is hard for me to compare this beer to the Imperial IPAs and Porters I love because it is so much like fresh chips and salsa. It smells like tortilla chips, jalapeño, cilantro, and tomatoes; and the neat thing is that it tastes like it. Once you get over the weird factor, this beer becomes delicious and better with each additional taste, i just wish it were a stronger style of brew; however, the light brew may have been necessary to taste the salsa subtleties. If you are afraid of different you will probably not like it, but for the adventurous, this is a fun brew. AS A BIG NOTE: I Believe this beer is better suited for people who like stinky food(i.e. Anchovies, Sardines, Limburger Cheese) like me, everybody else I was with hated this beer and referred to it as "drinking puke".

This tastes *exactly* like chips and salsa... so drinking it is reminiscent of throwing up chips and salsa. If I want to drink vomit, I’ll get some Natty Light.

Where to start with this beer. Normally I won’t slam a beer if I can help it, but have major problems with this. Everything about this beer is aweful. The aroma (once you get by the numerous infections, butter, plastic, metallic) reminds you of fermented onions and olives. Flavor, wow, imagine, you drank all night, ate some bell at 2am, had the worst acid reflux ever, then ralphed. I’m being nice I swear. Problems.....this is the type of beer a newbie tries, is so turned off by they never try "craft" beer again. IMHO this should have never been released. No question, worst beer I’ve ever had.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2010 Everything about his beer is salsa and chips (more on the salsa side - heavy on the cilantro). Nothing about a beer should be salsa and chips. Salsa and chips w/ beer, not as a beer!!! Someone could try to replicate rotten eggs with their beer, but why?
