3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pale amber with a white head that hangs around. Slightly weak aroma, quite a bit of alcohol, oranges, mandarins. Taste has caramel, mandarins and a good whack of alcohol. Some alcohol burn and a very bitter finish. Not bad

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[330ml bottle, Trembling Madness, York] Pours clearish golden with a large, voluminous white head. Nose of tangerine oil, candi sugar, yeast. Flavours of mustard, pepper, lemon, lavender, orange, nettle. It’s a strange beast – more like a barley wine, there’s not a huge amount of hop, other than hop oil. The peppery mustard on the finish is like a rye beer, then the alcohol comes through. It’s really interesting

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Smells papery tropical sunrise. Hazey yellow. Undoubtedly has good hop content - thick pineapple and passionfruit juice, which becomes a little raw and underdone in the middle - which could be booziness or could be unripeness. Finishes fine. Smooth throughout, and by and large a fat UK DIPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012. Poured with a golden amber body & a fading white head. A slight herbal, Jaeger-esque edge to an otherwise citric, grapefruit, lemon, resin & pine dominant aroma. Biting & lingering hop - grapefruit, pine & resin - finish, medium body, fullish mouthfeel. A bit raw & boozy in places but has a good hop presence.
