2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle: Aroma is very high on coffee, mainly spent coffee grindings. It smells like more a batch of iced or chilled coffee than a brew all the same. A little bit of detectable malts in this brew as well. Pours a pitch black with little or no head. Taste has a definite coffee backing. It tastes very similar to the last batch of Founders Breakfast Stout. All coffee and nothing else that made the brew good. Iím glad I rated that brew when it was half-way decent. This brew on the other hand is average. Too much of an coffee taste for me. Palate is almost coffee like with a coffee aftertaste in the brew. Overall, I like a good cup of joe, but this is too much like one to be really enjoyable as a beer. Decent, but not great at all.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark coffee aroma and taste but not as good as I was hoping for, seemed to lose some of its characteristics near the end of the pint

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz - Aroma is dark coffee, roasted chocolate and some chewy malts. Pours black with no head or lacing. Flavor is watery mocha with a nice roasty finish. Palate is dry. Not a bad brew, but there are many other better coffee stouts.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
black body, no head, malty mocha nose, sweet chocolate flavor, vanilla, creamy mouthfeel, good coffee flavor without the acidic bitterness that some coffee stouts have, licorice/anise, very sweet and very good

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle, shared by CharlesDarwin. Pours an opaque mahogany brown with a very small brown head that ran to a thin ring. Nice chocolaty coffee nose, a little roasted malt, and minimal to no hops. Flavor is kinda murky, a mix of day old coffee, cocoa, and a heavily yeasty stout. Light to moderate bitterness with a little astringency. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Lingering wet coffee grounds finish, sort of like that last sip of an espresso with the silt like sludge. Overall, a little muddled, but still a coffee beer (my favorite), and that counts for something with me. Iíd drink it again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle, courtesy of CharlesDarwin. Thanks, Tom! Pours a murky, dark brown color, like a muddy espresso; minimal head formation. Dense, tootsie rolls and nougat in the aroma; espresso and plenty of chocolate. Medium mouthfeel: nougaty and chewy espresso core; lightly roasted coffee character (no greenness), with a light citrus note; ends with plenty of roasted coffee and oily nuttiness.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle shared by CharlesDarwin. Nose of sweet candy (tootsie rolls - someone else said it and then I smelled it) and chocolate liquer. Coffee presence is heavy, but sweet. Flavor also leans on the sweet side, with chocolate syrup, cocoa, slick & sweet malts, some nuts, and a heavy presence of godiva chocolate liquer. The coffee itself is very fresh and bright, but the beer overall is a little undercarbonated and/or thin. Still, a decent coffee stout.

3.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Espresso Love huh ? Well this does pour a chocolate brownish color. Like coffee with just a touch of creamer. There is no froth at all. Bummer! Still as night. Aromas of sweet creamed coffee, not espresso, coffee. So far Iíd have to say this brew doesnít live up to itís name. Medium nectar weight w/ no appearant residual effers. You really have to abuse this one to get any. A watery texture is produced by this lack of carbonation. Another bummer! The flavor profile is primarily toffee, mildly sweet creamed coffee, and caramel held together by a mild roast component. Itís very mild, not espresso like at all. The thinish is bittered mildly and leaves a linger toffee essence. Overall: itís a tastey brew for sure but it doesnít live up to itís name.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a 12 Oz Bottle (Thanks Sean!). Boasting granular coffee aroma, combated with chocolate nibs and faint smoked salt. Rich and chewy nose. Pours a deep black brown pour, with rim of tan. Flavor moves into a slightly harsher coffee flavor then muddles in a bit of mud and caramel. Body tends thin and slightly sour, but not unpleasantly. Chocolate oils settle in and the coffee rests quietly. One of the cleaner regular beers Iíve had from Arbor.

Draft at Corner Brewery. Poured dark brown with an average creamy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Solid roasted coffee and chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a creamy texture. Solid roasted balanced flavor with a smooth average bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
