COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oatmeal and 20 pounds of fresh roasted coffee from the Ugly Mug Cafe contribute to a mildly chalky espresso character balanced by a rich, sweet, creamy maltiness. coffee finish dissolves into chocolate with a slight roasty bitterness.

Bottle thanks to Timbo- the Michigan hook up! Pours a dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet malts, loads of rich coffee. The flavor is a battle between bitter roast and mellow milky coffee. Mellow and somewhat thin. Pretty good, very quaffable.

I usually don’t like this style, but this is really smooth woith the coffee only in the background. again well balanced if a little sweet, deep dar coffee color and some lacing

well the bottle looks kinda cool. lets see.. no head, thin, watery. a little roasty, espresso thing going on, but where’s the flavor? boring, watery mess. drinkable, and that’s about it.

A - Pours dark brown with a big, fizzy mocha head that fades quickly. Has some floaties. Certainly not what I expected. Kind of looks like a Coke. S - Not a very big smell at all. Some coffee and chocolate. A little buttery. T - Wow. Underwhelming. A little bittersweet coffee and chocolate. Then the butteryness kicks in. None of this is very strong however. M - Thin and carbonated. Not what I want out of a stout. D - I’m going to have a hard time getting through this one. I’m glad it’s my only one. Edit: This ended up going down the drain.

11th October 2008. GABF. Smooth soft palate. A little creamy coffee in with the dark malt. Nicely balanced. Minerally dry finish.

Solid black color with brown tints at edges. Fast falling head, wet lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Flavor similar to that of Founders Breakfast Stout, but a little wetter. Roasted malt, light coffee present. Little aftertaste. Not quite a high quality brew as it’s probably missed its intended mark and has plenty room for improvement, but certainly still drinkable and tasty if you’re craving a coffee stout.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark shinny coffee black, a thinner full viscosity, with a thick creamy foamy tan froth. Aroma is fairly nice of coffee beans, some nice sugar and cream aroma as well, pleasant roast. Flavor is strong of coffee with a bit of cream and sugar, full flavored, roasty but fairly soft overall, a nice clean roast flavor in the finish that I wish was more present upfront. Cookie dough and very bitter coffee aftertaste. Medium thinner bodied, creamy oily mouth-feel, harsh sizzling carbonation. Pretty nice. Has a bit of a berry and banana thing going on too, as well as just a subtle hint of infection... oh Arbor...

Roasty aroma, chocolate and coffee...maybe a touch of sourness hinted at. Pours a very dark brown with exuberant tan head. Flavor is chocolate and coffee with roasted grain and a hint in the background of sour tartness that probably doesn’t belong there. The too-thin body distracts from the fairly robust flavors.

From the Jug at the GABF Colorado Convention Center, Denver 10/10/2008 Some roast aroma. Black and very fruity with a crisp dry and slightly bitter roast finish.
