3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle.Black with a small head.Bitterness hits you from the first taste and lasts. Not a lot of hoppiness which increases the struggle that I have with a black IPA. This is more like a very bitter stout. Strength was 7.5 per cent. A lovely beer to be drunk slowly and appreciated.

Bottle at the Semi-Final Tasting. Deep brown color with a big espresso colored head. The nose is big roasty chocolate, wood, coffee ice cream and marshmallow. Some blackberry. The taste is quite hoppy tropical fruits. Plenty of pineapple and salty tang. A bit puckering, giving over to a lightly syruppy dry chocolate coffee finish. Big body, bold. A bit creamy.
