3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle.Black with a small head.Bitterness hits you from the first taste and lasts. Not a lot of hoppiness which increases the struggle that I have with a black IPA. This is more like a very bitter stout. Strength was 7.5 per cent. A lovely beer to be drunk slowly and appreciated.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pitch black beer with an incredibly strong light brown head. The aroma is fairly strongly roasted, and the flavour extremely bitter and espresso coffee roasted. What a good strongly roasted beer is all I can say.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
7.5% Bottle from Trembling Madness. An inky black beer that pours with a HUGE foamy tan coloured head. It has chocolate and liquorice flavours, very strong spicy (slight sour?) orange marmalade notes and pine/grapefruit and smoke on the finish.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Pete. Jet black, low cream top. Smells car piss and pine + coal tar. Very stouty roast: crunchy, super bitter. The hops add a err, not sure. Perhaps they add a thin slice of perfumed mouth tremble. This really is very bitter indeed. A great UK beer, with a loooong aftertaste.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Black with a big light brown head that doesn’t budge. Aroma is massively soapy, some grapefruit, citrus, pine, chocolate and coffee but soap is the order of the day. Taste is again dominated by soap but when broken down also has grapefruit, chocolate and coffee. Thick with a fair bitterness and a lingering chocolate finish. A nice big robust beer with some very nice elements but the soapiness is hard to overcome

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black pour. Big tan head that is slow to fall and leaves tons of lacing. Big aroma of powdered chocolate and oranges, hops and malt. Taste is mirroring the aromas. Very tasty. Slightly bitter, but sweet at the same time.
