3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Chrisoís Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012. Poured a cloudy, near opaque
brown with a small, fading bubbly beige head. Lovely juicy citrus fruit aromas of grapefruit with resin & pine too & touches of roasted malt. Drier flavour-wise with more roasted malts, pine, liquorice & berry skin. Medium body, firm & lightly carbonated palate texture with a lingering dry, resinous bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home. Deep brown/black pour, very thick ice-cream sundae style beige head. Serious head retention, actually gets in the way a bit! Must be all the hop oils. Big rich nose, some light hot chocolate powder, soft chocolate malts, light spicy hops. Sweet dark chocolatey coffee roast up front, and then a huge whack of rich, resinous hops. Looooong resinous bitter finish. A bit harsh at first, but Iím getting used to it, after a while it really balances out rather well. Not bad at all.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle, awesome rocky stable brown head, black, coffee, roasty, with hoppy hinds, very dry bitterness, medium sweetness, full body, thick feel, soft carbonation, on of the richest beers I ve had for last year, maybe lack of drinkability, cant drink four of these a night but thats not a mission of this brilliant beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
At last a review in real time, still have backlog, but Iím getting there. Iíve got a looooooong taste of coins in my mouth. Coins that have been left at the bottom of a caffetiere for a month to linger in the remains of resins coffee. It goes on and on and on.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Another seething menace from Arbor. Strong coffee nose with 90% cocoa lindt chocolate and licorice coming through. Pours a deep, dark brown with a fluffy head the colour of a double espresso crema. The flavour follows the nose with rich, dark notes in spades - bitter, bitter cocoa, buttery, burnt malts, more licorice, some aniseed, some flambeed figs, and a long, long, oily finish. Rich, complex, chocolatey, bitter and biting, this is a corker from the best of the new Bristol breed of progressive brewers.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
not, in my opinion, a BIPA but a heavy duty stout!
looks amazing, deep black with massive foamy head.
very bitter and maintains a decent roasty bitterness. some dark fruit also.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Massive chocolate and coffee on the nose, not very IPA but very pleasant. Pitch Black with a solid cream head. Roastiness and bitterness dominate the flavour with a little spicy hop flavour hiding in there. An interesting beeer but I donít think Iíd try it very often....
