Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours clear, bright gold with a sturdy, beige cream head. Fruity aroma, lightly floral, with berries, semi-dark bread. Medium sweet flavor with lightly toasted bread, candi sugars, light yeast, toasty sugars, faint leafy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild warmth to finish with moderately sticky sugars, fruits, slight alcohol. Pretty true Belgian-style beer.

Cask at The Rake, London. Somewhat hazy golden beer with almost no head. Hoppy fruity aroma, citrus, peach, caramel, floral notes, grapefruit, some lemongrass. Fruity hop flavor, caramel, floral, citrus, raisins, pine apples, peach, some hay, lemongrass, yeasty notes. More if an APA or IPA, but still a good beer.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 15/12/12. Clear dark mahogony brown with a thin off white head that clears to the edge and leaves a small film. Nose is dark caramel, spice, dark fruits. Taste comprises dark malt, sugars, fruit, toffee, spice, Belgian yeast esters. Fullish body with soft carbonation leading to a sweet fruity dry finish. Ok - a little too sweet.

Bottle at home. It pours cloudy deep red-brown with medium yellow-white head. The nose is caramel, toffee-apple, earth, red berry, spice, wood, candy, raisin and fruit cake. The taste is bitter-sweet, burnt toffee, red berry, light tartness, earth, toast, damp wood, alcohol warmth, spice, mustiness, dried fruit and some astringency. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A bit sweet and a touch hot. Interesting, but I doubt I could drink much of it...

Yeasty, still, slightly agricultural with an enticing, muted fireside fruitines; plummy yeast; apple peel and redcurrant skin notes. Ripe nectarine right through it. Dunk of Hovis biscuit. Mellow and good.
