ABV: 7.5%. Clear dark black - red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, licorice, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, salty, roasted, licorice, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120803]

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, chocolate, citrusy hops, and lemons, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours an almost opaque dark brown with a vague reddish hue and a small beige head. Sweet roasty nose with some greasy and citrusy hops blending in. Medium body, very bitter roast, very bitter - and greasy - hops. Charry and bitter finish. A little to the rough side. 301112

Bottled@chriso pre-gbbf shindig 2012 (bottle bought from Euston Tap). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, herbal, fruity and a bit salty/earthy notes as well. Flavour s liquorice, mild ashes, coffee along with fruity and floral hops. Nice balance.

Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a dark brown black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty hoppy licorice aroma. Roasted malty hoppy licorice and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty hoppy licorice finish with weak piney hints.

bottle at home ... deep black ... huge tan bubbly head ... softroast malt ... sof bitter pine nose ... over fizzy ... huge hcocolate roast thats wonderfull... but its then got a huge bitter linger... over pine and some charcoal.. heavy going

Botella. Black colour, small beige head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and hops, really nice. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly roasty malty with citrussy hops, some chocolate and a good above medium bitterness. Yum!

On tap at the Euston Tap. 7.5%. Opaque black beer, good pale tan head. Smooth soft palate, a little dry. Rich smooth dark malts. A little rye spice. Very mild roast. Very mild pine hops. A whisper or red berry fruits. Pretty dry finish with roast malt bitterness. Bitters lingers for a while.
