1st Aug 2013: hand-pulled half-pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates. Black with a good sized off-white crown. Roasted malts fill the nose and taste buds, slightly sweet, but with a bitter undertone, this is a well balanced and well make beer. Rich, creamy and flavoursome: my kind of brew, pity it was a hot sticky evening and not really suited to a Porter, even if this is supposed to be a Summer one.

Cask conditioned air pressure Euston Tap London 22/07/13. A black beer with red notes and an off-white head. A hoppy porter. Sweet and sour notes too. A bit lactic. Intersetingly odd and not totally gelling. Not run of the mill that’s for sure.

Black Country Beano. Post Beano short bash in the Euston Tap. Cask. Clear dark amber beer, little off white head. Light dry palate. Dry bland papery dark malts. Dry finish. Mmmm. I really like Arbor but I do wish they could evolve from this kind of blandness.

Scopey (6315) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 12, 2013
Cask at Euston tap. It pours deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is earth, toast, roasted malt, light smoke/bonfire aspect and meatiness. The taste is mellow roast, summer berry, light jamminess, earth, light toast/charred wood, touch of acidity, astringency and decent bitterness with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Decent enough.
