3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 AleTsar (1331) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 29, 2012
Bottle from West Country Ales
Caramel brown...bit hazy...thin frothy off white head...some lacing
Aroma - Caramel malts...soft grassy and citrus hops..hint of grapefruit...bit of toffee...bit of yeast
Taste of soft grassy hops, soft citrus hops, bit of grapefruit and lemon, caramel malts, some toffee, bit of toast
Palate - soft carb, medium body, lots more hoppy bitterness, zesty citrus soften by the malts. Finish lingering bitter with some salty toast that lingers too long
Overall - This isn’t a Black IPA - more a hoppy Brown Ale, plenty of flavour
