COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just because a beer is low in strength, there’s no reason why it should be low on flavour. To get the most out of this dark session beer we’ve combined several different hops from Europe, New Zealand and the US, each contributing its own unique flavour components. These have worked together with the grains selected to create a session beer that punches well above its weight.

Cask conditioned at The Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell, Gt London. Chestnut with an off white head. A really complex beer, is it a Mild? Full of bitterness, hops and quite nutty in character. Some barley grain flavour, really quite enjoyable.

Factoberfest 2011 A reimagined mild but packed full of resinous and aromatic floral notes from the blend of hops from all the usual suspects finishing with a dry and bitter aftertaste. Tonnes of flavour for its 3.4%.

Cask at Craft Beer Co. It pours very dark brown, with a thin light beige head. The nose is latte, caramel, light roasted malt, wood, light spice and liquorice. The taste is lactose, filter coffee, earth, light spice, roasted malt, wood and cracked black pepper, with a dry, spicy finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Decent.

Cask at The Euston Tap, London. Pours light brown with a tight, off-white head. Has a very pleasant aroma with notes of milk chocolate and ground coffee. Flavor has a nice and roasty flavor with light sweetness and some burned wood bitterness. Yep, lots of burnt wood, almost to an abrasive extent. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Roasted malt finish, some baking cocoa, a bit of coffee, very faint sugars but some lingering, earthy bitterness. Not bad.

Pint at Hobgoblin. Nicely rich and roasted with a bit of chocolate to it. Black beer with little head. Aroma is light roasted, not very evident and lacks complexity. Enjoyable but fairly simple. Has more body than a lot of milds.
