COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big IPA has one pound of dry hops per barrel as well as five different hops used in the boil which give it a huge citrusy hop flavor thoughout. It has an opaque yellow/orange color and a long bitter finish. Brewed in honor of our friend, neighbor and number one seller of our beer Larry Hoppe. Thank You Larry - you will be missed. 9.0% ABV 79 IBUs.

On tap at Ypsilanti brewpub. Pours dark orangish copper with off-white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus, pine and some malt. Flavor is bitter hops, citrus, light pine, and caramel malts. Nice balance between malt and hops. Finishes bitter. Good mouthfeel and appropriate carbonation. Not a uber hop bomb but still nicely balanced while packing decent hop punch. Could have had several glass and at under $4 for a 10oz glass it was pretty easy on the wallet especially with the 10% ABV. Thanks Larry for doing what you did to warrent having a good IIPA brewed in your honor. Cheers homie!

On tap at the Ypsi pub. Poured a murky orangish amber with an off white head that laced nicely. Aroma was full of piney hops with a slight touch of citrus. Flavor had a bit of citrus in the beginning, but a pine not built through out and quickly over took the citrus.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Slightly hazy straw-orange body, thin off-white head. Citrusy nose, modest pine. Sweet, fruity body with brown sugar and caramely malts providing significant balance to the bitter, piney hops. Soft body. Maltier than most beers in the style.

On tap at the brewpub. Subtle hop butter nose, running lemon and other citrus over turpentine. Nice. Clouded pale gold-orange, and a rim of white. Flavor is decent. Nice honey-like balance, between grasses and bread. A really solid, yet mild Imperial IPA. Alcohol is really well integrated and soft. Hops could use a little more flavor, but the bitterness plays nicely off of the sugars. Good.

From 10-Beer Flight at Arbor Brewing Company Brewpub on December 1, 2008. Light amber color. Aroma of citrus and hops. Spicy hop flavor but also very light and subdued, pretty tame for a double IPA. Not too intrusive. Refreshing for the style, very enjoyable.
