Cask-conditioned at the Raven, Bath 18/5/08. Near black with a slight white head. Aroma had the standard Arbor nose of roast malt, with some dark fruit and bitter chocolate. Flavour was roasty in the main, with a savoury edge and a bitter finish. A good modern version of a mild.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, London on 10th April 2012. Deep ruby with thin off-white, dot-lacing head. Rich malty aroma with biscuit notes. Superb malty liquid - shortbread and fresh-baked cakes, bitter chocolate and berries. Very balanced rounded finish with sweet fruitiness. Engaging mouthfeel with plenty of body. Loved it.

On tap at the Craft. Clear dark brown beer, bubbly pale tan head. Light dry palate. Very mild dark malt - trace of chocolate powder. Mild tang. A little dried fruits. Finishes minerally fresh and dry. Quite well joined up.

Cask Stillage at Edgeley Park, Stockport 03/06/2011 (As Mild Ale) Roast aroma. Small beige head. Dark coloured a little rich on the palate and fruity with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a crisp and slightly burnt roast finish.

Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008.
Clear medium brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, creamy caramel, chocolate, notes of peat. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (030508)

[cask at Reading beer festival] Rich smokey coffee notes, a beer to slowly savour as the aroma gradually fills your mouth and nose. Would have been my favourite beer at the festival were it not for the incredible Brewdog Edge!

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Reading Beer Festival.
Cloudy dark red brown. Sweet sweet coffee and malt with some fairly obvious diacetyl. Roasted coffee notes are nice but the buttery character spoils it.
