This beer leads off with a stiff round-house punch of citrusy hops, follows up with a quick kick of bready malts and warming alcohol, and finishes with a powerful and lingering bite of complex layered hops. This popular brew was inspired by ABC founder, head brewer and spiritual leader Matt Greff whose cartoon enhanced image graces the label.

12 oz bottle - pours a clear amber with orange hues . Nice white lacing . Big hop aromas. Exactly as advertised. Big juicy citrus hops followed by a bready finish and some alcohol. Overall pretty delicious . Pun intended . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malts, ample fruity character, quite a bit of oxidation that had me trying to determine the age of the bottle, stale toasted bread, the bitterness was very mild. I like my DIPAs to have a much more assertive hop profile.

12oz bottle, thanks to umich03jm. Shared with alexsdad06. Totally hazy amber color. Thin off-white head. Decent, kind of loose bits of lace. Good orange citrus hop, some pine, light peachy tropical fruity aromas, maybe some pineapple. Tangerine. Light caramel, kind of biscuity malt. Bigger bitter taste, light sweet, light bit of alcohol warmth. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation, light dry finish. Better than expected. Pretty solid, balanced DIPA.

12 oz bottle. Pours a completely hazed orange amber with some particles and an off-white head. Aroma strong on caramel and biscuit with hints of citrusy hops. Flavor is slightly stale biscuit with caramel, some citrus and berry and even a bit of bourbon. Definitely an older bottle, but there is still a little something about it.

The beer is dark orange and hazy with a thick, soapy white head. The aroma brings sweet citrus, candied fruits. The flavor confirms that this is a sweet beer. sweet breads and sugary pineapple and mango. Some alcohol warmth in the finish. Bitter hops gain strength as I progress through the beer. There is a nice balance here that shouldn’t be overlooked. While a bit sweet and malty for my personal tastes, this is a decent beer. Elegant bready, malty body supports sweet resinous hops. Worth a try.

On tap. Hazy, burnt copper colour. Big resinous style with hoppy pungentness and a real malty and caramel note. On the palate it is big, hoppy, a little sweet on the finish. Great stuff!

Solid effort from the Mr. himself. Sweet and malty with a great hop burst. Alcohol is hidden well but makes enough of an appearance to make this very enjoyable. Kudos.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is big hop notes, very floral and pungent hop scent. Appearance is an amber color with a hint of golden and a nice thick white head that lingers. Taste has got a nice hop texture, grapefruit notes with a nice bite. Palate is medium to high carbonation with a lingering aftertaste of hops and a light grain note. Overall, Good Imperial IPA but not stellar. Cheers!

Bottle: thanks, Jeff! Slightly translucent, hazy copper body with a very slight ruby tint to it; foamy, eggshell head recedes nice & slowly down into the glass. Aroma of sticky caramel malt (uh-oh), some lightly wet pine, & a touch of ashy hops. Overly sweet from the crystal/caramel malt bill, it seems. Taste is similar - very malt heavy, more so than I like my D/IPAs to be. Lots of caramel & toffee flavors with some herbal, ashy, & pine laden hops playing secondary. Hint of tropical fruit in the finish, but the sweet caramel aftertaste is the most notable flavor. Sticky, heavy body. Not bad, but I usually am not a fan of DIPAs that lean on a dark/sweet malt bill like this.

Bottle: The aroma consists of fruit, citrus, and caramel. It pours a slightly hazy amber with small white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with a sweet citrus, caramel, and a touch of toffee. The finish has moderate grapefruit with a touch of pine. It’s medium-full bodied with light-moderate carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, caramel/toffee in IIPA’s isn’t my thing.

On tap at Fraser's. The pour is a reddish-orangey color with a white filmy head and some good lace. The aroma is somewhat bland. There is a hoppiness, followed by a sweeter maltiness and then a little bit of booze. The flavor is a little sweeter and boozy on the front end with a light bitterness toward the end and a little bit of a grassy hop finish. The mouth feel is decent, a little thin, and the flavors don't hang around as much as I'd like, especially for a good double IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
