Cask, handpump at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London 6th Jan 2012 Dark brown in colour with very little head. This is a touch thin with a bit of roastiness, nice light chocolatey flavour with a slight tang, but I’m not sure that I’m getting too much salinity or oyster flavour however that is probably good and would suggest that the balance is good. A very likeable stout but coming on the back of a Buxton Wild Boar it was always going to be up against it, nice though. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask at Craft Beer Co, London. Black beer with a minimal head. Coffee, chocolate, licorice aroma. Malty, coffee, chocolate flavour. Nice beer but a bit thin.

Black beer, small brown head. Chocolate and coffee aroma, cocoa, licorice, soot, smoked, malty and some dried fruits. Chocolate flavor, coffee, soot, fruity, malty, fig notes.

Cask. Classic black stout appearance with a small almost white head. Malt, coffee and roasty aroma, with a touch of chocolate. Very smooth mouthfeel, with chocolate and coffee notes.

Cask at the Craft Beer Co. It pours jet black, with a thin, light tan head. The nose is soy sauce, salted liquorice, seaweed, smoke, toffee, treacle and varnish. The taste is salted liquorice, roasted malt, treacle, tar, pepper, caramel, molasses, smoke and varnish, with a long roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A very flavoursome brew for the percentage. Nice.

Cask at Craft Beer Co., London. Pours dark brown with a foamy head. Good chocolate character throughout. Some good roast notes, medium sweetness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Sweet, cocoa finish. Very solid beer.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A dark red-brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, as well as medium notes of soy sauce and oats. The flavor is sweet wtih notes of caramel, malt, soy sauce, and oats, leading to a very roasted finish.

Dark brown color, steady brown head. Chocolaty, toasted nose. Light body. Chocolate, coffee, hints of tobacco. A bit ashy finish. Balanced, nice session stout.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Black lasting beige head. Quite a flavoursome stout, some sweetness. It’s a decent tasty stout. Good condition.

Clear dark black brown color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20100803]
