3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle courtesy of Sean and Amber (2beerguys.com). Look is a hazy brown ale with thin white head that showed plenty of retention. Lots of retention. Nose is hops with slightly roasted malt. Light effervescence with spicy hops. Light lingering hops. Nice to try.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark red-copper pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, nuts, some toasted bread, hints of spice, some resinous and piney notes in there but focused mainly on the malt. Taste is toasted malts with nuts, caramel, dark sugars into a touch of fruit, hints of bread, some grassy and spicy notes, finishing bitter, dry.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a shaker pint glass.
A: Toasty caramel flavors with some floral and herbal hops. Nutty aroma with some citrus and a touch of grainy roasts.
A: Pours a red amber hue with a thin, white head with good retention and has good lacing.
T: Follows the nose, with the nuttiness a bit more pronounced. A distinct roasted character to the malt, more toasted wheat bread than the deeper roast you get with porter and stouts.
P: Medium body with average carbonation.
O: A little rough and unbalanced, but still a decent session beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not bad. A bit like a brown IPA, rather than red. Pour is more amber, but roasted malt character of a brown. Either way, hops trump malt in this brew.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Reddish copper with a huge, beige head. Malty, boozy and soapy aromas. Big malt taste. A lot like a light porter.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Has a very strange taste to it, like rubber or plastic, that dominated all other flavors. It was difficult to enjoy this beer for that reason.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle poured a deep amber color with aromas of light caramel, malt, a touch of citrus and some light nuts. Flavor was light caramel and earth, citric acid aftertaste, not what I expected.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amber colored beer with a big bubbled ivory colored head. Roasted grain nose with some faint smoke. Full flavored beer with strong citrus/grapefruit hops over a light toasted bread/caramel maltiness. There is an almost smoky sense to it. Some fruit, acidity, and a long bitter grapefruit rind finish. this is a solid, creative beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, but had this on draft before too. Pours a nice clear copper color with an obnoxiously big foamy head that fades very slowly. Aroma is faint, toasted malt, caramel, some grassy/floral hops. Taste is really good though. The toasted amber malt is the focus here and I like it. Dry floral and spicy hops show up in the finish. I’m obviously in the minority here but I really like this beer and find myself buying it fairly often.
