Hazy reddish-brown with big, foamy beige head / Musty, grassy nose / Medium body, crisp and hoppy, with excellent finish / Funky, brett-like flavors of leather, old clothes closet, cigar box, earl grey tea, caramel, grapefruit, and dry hop / Another great Arbor beer from a whimsical supermarket buy. While my bottle says, Amber Ale, I’ll go with Bitter.

On tap 09.19.08. Hazy caramel with off white head. Aroma is malty and on the faint side. The flavor is a little odd and reminds me of black tea. Taste is malty, slightly hoppy and bitter.

12 oz bottle-pours a thin light tan head and brown/red color. Aroma is medium/dark malt-molasses/chocolate, some nutty/peat/smoky, earthy. Taste is medium/dark malt-molasses/chocolate, some nutty/peat/smoky, earthy. Mild carbonation.

Huge head on this one, at the point where it’s obnoxious. Kind of a ruddy amber look to it. Aroma is pretty weak, kind of dusty, and dank. Surprisingly nice bitter hop bite that turns into an odd chemical and metallic taste. Almost like blood and vomit. Not sure how I feel about this one. I finished it though.

Just picked this up as the "Red Snapper Amber Ale", but I’m assuming it’s the same beer by the description. It poured nice, but had an overpowering young smell to it. I was afraid it might suffer in taste, but the malt carries through enough to help tone down the green flavors. Unfortunately the hops are not enough to fight the young taste, but it is far from undrinkable.
