jvmiller (285), Bel Air, Maryland, USA May 17, 2007 Overall a very nice IPA. Served on tap at ABC in Ann Arbor with a very thick cream colored head, a bit unusual for an IPA I thought. Nevertheless, the color was a warm orange, and it was quite full bodied for an IPA. Nice flavor of grapefruit and medium amount of resin that clings to the palate (comparable to Two Hearted Ale). Nothing spectacular but solid; I would get again.
jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 3, 2008 on hand pump-pours a light tan head that laces and cloudy gold/orange color. Aroma is mild citrus zest, backbone of light/medium malt. Taste is somewhat sweet citrus zest/earthy hops, backbone of light/medium malt, then mild bitter at the front is off set by earthy and sweet. Softly carbonated Session ale. AndrewKScott (341), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 I was wondering if I got a bad bottle, but it seems this beer just has an incredible head. Literally, so huge that it’s obnoxious. It’s a decent IPA, with an alright albeit one dimensional citrus flavor and grassy finish, but the fact I have to either drink through a huge amount of foam or wait 10 minutes for a sip sucks. Regardless, Arbor obviously needs to figure this problem out, as their amber has similar issues. hombrepalo (466), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 11, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Wasn’t feeling it of this IPA. Pale bright opaque gold...grapefruit, oak and vanilla dominate the sweet slightly acidic nose...sweet-sour grapefruity body, soft bitterness at first becoming fairly intense later, touch of brown sugar to moderate. SpudClampDawg (921), Jasper, Indiana, USA Aug 4, 2008 12oz bottle: Golden yellow pour with a gigantic, rising white head. The foam eventually subsides, leaving a dollop of foamy head in the middle of the glass. The aroma is, well, different. Expected notes of juicy citrus and sweet caramel are mixed with unexpected notes of crushed cinammon and fresh cut oak. Smells intriguing actually. The body is less intriguing, unfortunately. A muddled mix of rindy grapefruit, husky malt and stale spices meet the tongue. I know this is fresh, as I bought it real near the source. Hmm, just a decent IPA that broke down somewhere along the way. doubleo (765), San Diego, California, USA Jul 26, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge, billowing, white head. Great retention, sheet lace. Smells very malty and barely hoppy. Cereal malt smells. Tastes more hoppy than it smells. Grassy hops but still lots of cereal, sweet malt flavors as well. Too much in my opinion. Medium body, good carbonation.
