COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong, rich stout brewed for Saint Patrick’s day. Rich and robust with a dense head and full body. Chalky turkish coffee palate and complex notes of toffee, tawny port, and black currents. Long, roasty, smoky finish with substantial bitterness.

Very robust and creamily full bodied with a decent head and lacing. Has the full forceful bitterness of absolutely unsweetend chocolate and tastes somewhat burnt as well - not unpleasantly so, but burnt nonetheless. Very long bittering finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours deep brown with an off-white head. Slightly subdued aroma mainly of brown sugar. Brown sugar also leads the flavor along with dark chocolate, almost like a cocoa powder. Quite dry, but on the thin side. It’s alright.

Pours a pitch black color with a ring of light brown lace. Good aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Solid flavor of roasted malt and coffee with a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and moderate carbonation.

Draft sample at MBGF 06. Black color with a moderate light brown frothy head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate dark chocolate roasted malt aroma. Medium to full body. Medium dark chocolate roasted flavor with a medium tart bitter finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.

Michigan BGF 06 Day 2: Opaque with a small creamy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of coffee, chocolate, toast, raisin, and earthy yeast esters. The taste is sweet yet I get a big time smoke and roast much more than detected on the nose. Very well balanced with some twangy fruit and ending bitters. The mouth feel is smooth and oily, fits style. I like this, solid and works on many levels.

I think that their other stouts on tap for this month are a little better. This was a little watery. The alcohol was pretty well covered up. A little bit of coffee aroma, but when you drink it at the same sitting as a breakfast stout, the coffee in this seems almost none existant. I’d recommend one of their other stouts before trying this one.

Not too bad. Black as night with a tan head. Coffee and alcohol aroma, and the taste was exactly what the smell advertised. Not too bad, but I've had much better

This is one great stout. Nice and thick and rich. Turkish coffee and toffee flavors. ABC did a great job this time.
