DruncanVeasey (6114) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2013
500ml bottle from AP Harvey Wines, Coventry. Diaphanous straw with a fine, subsiding white mousse. Aroma of Fruit Salad chews, pineapple, lemongrass, yeast and perfumed, coriander-like impressions. Punchy tropical flavour with unforgiving bitterness, dry raspy malt base; pine; red apple, melon and pineapple fruit. Soap and nut husk to finish with a slurp of trifle bottoms. Robust; a little hot- alcohol not hidden. Mellows with swigging. More old school than New World- could almost pass as a hot fruity tripel or Belgian IPA blind. Not bad at all- was just hoping for a faceful of hops.

berkshirejohn (3643) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2013
50cl bottle from Bitter Virtue, Southampton. Straw with a billowing white head, and lots of carbonation; startling tangerine aroma; rich, almost buttery in the mouth, with a predominantly kiwi fruit flavour and some tangerines as well; there’s a touch of fresh pine twig towards the finish, which is long, dry and fruity. Excellent.

500ml bottle from Hippo Beers. Hazy reddish amber brown colour, reasonable head. Sweet flowery hop aroma. Tropical fruit & hop flavour. Sweet hop & fruit aftertaste. More fruity than hoppy which makes it a slightly unusual IPA.

jmgreenuk (1284) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 3, 2013
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium amber with a big frothy white head. The aroma is hoppy, but surprisingly weak. The flavour is medium to weak bitter, which some rich fruit and spice on the palate. Not as hoppy as some of of the other Arbor single hop IPA’s, but very drinkable and many people might prefer this style. It’s an IPA for non-hopheads!
