As the name suggests we’ve used just one variety of hop in this pale golden ale. For this range we select the more interesting hops and add several bucket loads to each brew. This one uses the New Zealand variety Kohatu. Expect bold flavours of tropical fruits and sweet citrus, followed by a bitter finish.

Bottle.Golden. Citrus at first with a bitter finish. Perhaps slightly too bitter for my personal taste but still a very nice beer.

Bottle. Hazy light gold with a white foam. Aromas are gooseberry with melon and light grapefruit. Floral with woody, zesty lemon yeast notes and marmalade. Flavours are floral and woody with base dry biscuit and melon. White grape juice with bittersweet lemon marmalade. Quite herbal. Peppery, dry and bitter to finish. Very nice.

Aroma: Pine, ash and lemon. Hints of tomato vine and white wine.

Appearance: Hazy golden body with a medium chalk-white head. Average carbonation. Good lacing.

Taste: Big pine flavour with subtle herbal hints and, strangely, freshly cut tomatoes. Bitter finish.

Palate: Medium body with a luscious, oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation.

Overall: Unusual, but pretty tasty. This hop reminds me a little of Nelson Sauvin, but with less fruit characteristics.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a slightly cloudy straw yellow with a bubbly white head and some broken lace. The aroma hits you right away. It was like sticking my head in a bag full of fresh grass cuttings! If i’d mashed the contents of that bag and added some alcohol, than probably best describes the flavour too! The balance between the grassy floral hoppiness and the dry bitterness on the palate was right. Make no mistake about it, served slightly cool, this is an amazingly flavourful and highly refreshing beer.

Bottle shared at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting 2013 - London. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a fine, frothy white head. Dry pithy citrus nose, some fine dough. Light sweet flavor with tangy lemon, dry grass and doughy pale malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly dry to finish with pale grass and simple pale malts. Easy.
