Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a slightly cloudy straw yellow with a bubbly white head and some broken lace. The aroma hits you right away. It was like sticking my head in a bag full of fresh grass cuttings! If i’d mashed the contents of that bag and added some alcohol, than probably best describes the flavour too! The balance between the grassy floral hoppiness and the dry bitterness on the palate was right. Make no mistake about it, served slightly cool, this is an amazingly flavourful and highly refreshing beer.

Bottle Rehills Ncl. Pours a dusty pale gold with a thin bubbly head. Yeasty burnt leaves aroma. Flavours of tart gooseberry, reasonably sharp on the tongue initially, but smooths out with some cherry very late on in the background. Smoky characteristics come on later in the finish. That initial yeastiness does spoil it for me though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jamestulloch (476) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 12, 2012
Aroma: Pine, ash and lemon. Hints of tomato vine and white wine.
Appearance: Hazy golden body with a medium chalk-white head. Average carbonation. Good lacing.
Taste: Big pine flavour with subtle herbal hints and, strangely, freshly cut tomatoes. Bitter finish.
Palate: Medium body with a luscious, oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation.
Overall: Unusual, but pretty tasty. This hop reminds me a little of Nelson Sauvin, but with less fruit characteristics.
