Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
As the name suggests, we’ve used just one variety of hop in this pale golden ale. Brewed with just low colour Maris Otter malt and a little wheat for head retention, we’ve selected some of the more “interesting” hops and added several bucket loads to each brew. Currently we’re using one of our favourites, NZ Motueka. Expect a tropical citrus twist, with hints of lemon and lime.

500ml bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a good head and a long ttle sediment. Slightly floral aroma. Not hugely complex but has a really good hit of hops. Light and refreshing with a substantial but not overwhelming bitter finish. A slight grassiness in there too. Just my kind of beer.

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Lamplighter Northampton 28/02/14. A golden coloured beer with an off-white wispy head and lace. Fairly noticeable tropical fruit like NZ hopping. Malts are a bit bready though and it’s therefore oddly unbalanced. Drinkable though and not ordinary.

Cask conditioned at The Grapes, Oxford. Gold with white head. The hop imparted quite an earthy note, somewhat surprisingly, the lime like note then come through, bittering, tangy, fresh. The body is light and crisp. Decent.

500ml bb300414. ar tropical fruit. ap: poured cloudy. ta: tropical fruit, light-mod sweetness, light-mod bitterness, quite dry. pa: light body, thin texture, short finish. ov: a beer all about the variety of hop, unfortunately lacking in many other respects.l

Cask at the Euston Tap. Clear golden orange with a persistent thick white head. Aroma is lemon rind coconut fairly subtle spice notes. Flavour is clean light pale malt and them funky thai spice, lemongrass coconut hops. Reminds me a good bit of sorachi ace. Palate is a touch light ans watery but very drinkable. I could nail a bunch of this.

Nch Beer Fest. Golden. Heavy on the hops giving this a fresh citrus and grassy flavour. Very light on the malt means this is a little one-dimensional. Thin and with not much of a finish, but it’s still worth a go.
