COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ypsilanti has spring fever and this is just what the doctor ordered. A marriage of caramel, spicy, and alcohol flavors supported by a rich malt character. Deep brown with roasted nuts, caramel, and bready aromas. Crisp medium body with dark caramel, nuts, and citrus peel flavors. Finishes with a long, drying citrus and burnt sugar fade. Great smooth mouthfeel and lightness make this a wickedly drinkable Belgian-style "session" beer. 8.5% ABV.

Pouring at the Michigan Brewers Festival during RBSG. Pours a deep ruby brown with a thin beige head. Soft fruit, light funk. Medium bodied and lightly tangy. Nutty with a bit of acetone. A ilttle toast, nuts, a bit of sourness and light tang on the finish.

More funk than the red - funky, cheezy, fruity, lemon, more cheese, pretty good fruit. This is a big funky mess in the mouth, big tart and massive yeast, the river is going to flood over and we are all going to drown. Nothing special.

sampled at MBSF. sour version...poured a semi-hazy caramel reddish brown with a thin off-white head... aroma easily stated as an earthy sour brown...flavors are of a soft muted sour brown with a little vinegar to add... lighter bodied and somewhat thin in bodied.

sour version, on tap at MBGSF 2010. More bretty, more lambic like than their others sours. Got a really funky, dusty character. Really harsh in the finish, though. Sour, not at all acetic or lactic, but sour and dusty, horse blanket. Quite like a rough lambic.

Sampled on tap at the MiBGF (Ypsilanti, MI). Pours darker reddish brown, no real head, pretty dark and hazed. Aromas are soured fruit punch, raspberries and cherries, apple, and a touch of tropical fruit, light biscuits malts provide a decent malty base with a touch of bread and toffee, decent acidity and light brett, wet oakiness. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, a touch vinegar and sour fruit punch, light biscuity malts, decent bitterness and acidity on the backend. A touch of vinegar, drying, with decent barrel character, wet oak and sweeter malts, a touch of yeast, died out with fruity notes throughout, a melange fruit salad perhaps. An interesting sour, juicy on the nose and up front, fairly dry, bitter, and bretty on the finish. Tasty. Sourness is nice but not amped up.. Lighter in that regard, but still very tasty.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2010 Sampled at the MiBGSF ’10. Poured a cloudy amber with a brown head that started on edges. Aroma had note of wood, but mainly tart cherries and other berries stuck out with a bit of sour apple. Flavor was similarly sour with a plethora of fruits melding well together.

On tap at MBGSF 2009. Murky brown with creamy beige head. Adoma is cherry and slight sour with dirtiness, grapinss. Flavor is similar but more cherry, tannins and dirtiness with grape. Medium body with light carbonatin. Another excelent sour beer under the arbor/corner label, but it looks like it wasn’t intentional. I still loved it.
