Strawberries are Spring’s first fruit. They announce the end of the long Midwest winter and welcome the lazy days of summer. They herald a season of weekends at the lake, walking barefoot through the grass, and whiling away the afternoon at your local beer garden. Be sure to savor your Strawberry Blonde while it lasts because like a Michigan summer, it’ll be gone before you know it. Food Pairings: Great with tangy BBQ, balsamic vinaigrette, citrusy or spicy dishes, and strawberry rhubarb pie Tasting Notes: This is a sophisticated fruit ale that doesn’t forget it’s a beer. Rich and flavorful medium bodied beer with a fresh, floral strawberry aroma. Citrus, spice, and fruit are blended seamlessly for a subtle yet distinct flavor that never turns too sweet.

Served on draft at the Michigan Summer Beerfest, 2010, as part of RBSG festivities. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a medium offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of peach, strawberry and slightly nutty notes. The taste is strawberry with some bready notes. Slightly bitter. Medium bodied. Decent.

4oz on tap at the Corner Brewery. Hazy orange amber color. Minimal ring of off-white head. Pleasant amount of strawberry, and some malt sweetness. Kind of like strawberry preserves. Mild herbal spiciness. Moderate sweet taste, very light bitter, just a hint of tang. Some raw grain. Medium-plus body. Kind of slick texture. Very light carbonation. Touch under carbed. An alright strawberry blond overall though. I dig the flavor. Would not want a whole pour though, 4oz was plenty.

Bottle. Pours a dark gold, definitely some brown in there, with a small off-white head. Aroma has a nice fresh strawberry note with underlying caramel. Flavor has more of a grain and caramel note with the strawberry coming out in the finish.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a golden orange color with a white head. The aroma is corn with some sugar, wheat and strawberries. The flavor has a lot of strawberries and wheat notes and also smells a little bit like Fruity Pebbles. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

pours hazy medium dark golden, orange tint, with a small off-white cap, no retention or lacing. phenolic fruits, spices, berry fruitiness, diacetyl, acetone, sweet honeyed malts - doughy caramel too, strawberry if not miscellaneous fruit jam - comes with a plain sweetness. average carbonation, light body - oily and a bit sticky, sweetish and short bitter herbal-peppery finish. offensive, defects-wise. blah.

(12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear rich orange with a ring of white bubbles. Nose of rosemary, strawberry, sugar and upon swirling the glass corn emanates. Taste of grass, herbal, and sugary strawberry syrup. Smooth palate finish.

Bottle: The aroma has lots of strawberry, but I’m also getting blueberry. It pours a cloudy reddish-orange with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with strawberry, but it tastes more like blueberries as it builds to the finish. The finish has some moderate grassy hoppiness along with some spice. Medium bodied with very mild carbonation. Solid...I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
