COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional.
Brewed specially for a chap visiting from Birmingham who claimed there are no good hoppy beers brewed in Bristol and "the local brewers use the same recycled hops teabag in their brews". So, here we have a Transpacific Pale Ale, brewed without teabags but instead large amounts of American and New Zealand hops.
Due to the level of interest generated, has become an occasional brew rather than the one-off originally intended.

@Raven, Bath. Golden colour, bright. The aroma has some dull, slightly chewy hop stuff (old centennial? Kind of smells like it). On the palate, this is more bitter, with a resiny character not normally found in Britain. Not as bright as I like in the style, but an okay effort.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, London on 13th April 2012. Gold with thin white head.. Rich hoppy aroma. Thickly bitter in-mouth with grassy bitternes. Bitter, satisfying finish.

Cask. Golden colour, little head. Citrus fruit aroma, grapefruit? Lovely bitter flavour, dominated by more citrus hops, with a rather dry finish. Certainly hoppier than many other pale ales around.

Cask @ The Raven (Coastal Beer festival). Bright gold, thick white head. Mild diacetyl in the aroma. Some floral hops and damp earth. Lots of hop bitterness in the flavors. Quite a hoppy brew with major dandelion and escarole. The high IBU hop bitterness in the flavors makes up for the dull damp aroma. Totally unbalanced in a good way.

Cask-conditioned at the Watershed, Bristol 18/07/10. Deep gold in colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of Pineapples, gooseberry and grapefruit, with a touch of sweet malt. Flavour had more tropical fruit, some biscuity malts and a mouth puckering, dry finish with some pine resin. There’s some truth in what the visitor from Birmingham said, but Arbor buck the local trend. Very enjoyable.
