COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A light-bodied brew with a light golden hue. Subtle biscuit-like maltiness with a crisp carbonation and tangy Noble hop character with a big enticing aroma. Even though this english-style wheat beer is technically called a "Summer Ale" it is the perfect choice any time youíre looking for something light and refreshing thatís big on flavor but light on body and alcohol.

This special beer was created in collaboration with Ypsilantiís own Tree Fort Bike Shop and mountain biking team. Arbor Brewing Company has long supported the Michigan Mountain Biking Association and recently became the beer sponsor for the Tree Fort team. So we were thrilled to have the opportunity to create a beer for and to help raise awareness of Michiganís great mountain biking scene. We chose the English-style Summer Ale because it is the perfect thirst-quencher after a hard race. Itís sort of the classic lawnmower beer re-imagined for a more sophisticated beer palate. It is proof that you can have a refreshing and quenching brew without compromising flavor.

This beer pours a clear golden-orange color with a medium thin white head that diminishes quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat and grassy hops. Light and crisp body with flavors of mild hops, wheat and yeast. The finish is short and lightly hoppy. Pretty average overall.

12oz bottle from The Beer Depot in Ann Arbor, MI. Pours a cloudy, golden colored body with a finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate, soapy lacing. Aroma is slightly bready wheats with some lemongrass and floral hops. A touch of toast in there too. Flavor is pretty solid. Some bready wheat malts up front with a pleasant, light toasted grain. A crisp, floral hoppiness comes in with some lemongrass and other citruses before this finishes smooth, crisp, and dry with a light bitterness. Medium-light body with a moderate carbonation. Overall, an alright beer. Very easy drinking and sessionable with a nice, crisp hopping and soft, pleasant malt backing. Not bad.

Tons of flavor for a 4.4% ABV beer! Pale blond color with some haze. Aroma and taste were wheat tang, with some sourness. Much better than I expected.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a slightly hazed yellow-orange with a small, tight white head. Mode brings some mildly sweet caramel malt along with some earthy hops. Taste is along the same lines. Pretty light overall. Feel is light with good carbonation and a nice understated bitterness. Drinks okay, but nothig too special. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-12-2010

Milky straw yellow with a fluffy white macro head. Aroma of sweet malt, wheat, citrus, mild spice and yeast. Taste is mildly sour with wheat, cream of tartar, malt and a chewy finish. Meh.

12oz bottle pours a clear golden yellow color with a thin white head. Nose of pale malts touch of wheat citrus and a sour slight infected note that increases with the temperature. Pale malt wheat flavors that are pretty blah with citrus, and slighlty bitter and sour. It becomes more sour and citrus that I wonder for a bit if this might be a Berliner Weisse, but I donít think that dirty sour note was intentional. Not too good.

Thanks Floyd. An exceptionally large tan head greeted me when this beer was poured. It dissipated slowly and unevenly. The beer itself is fig brown, cloudy, and offers plenty of floating sediment. Yeast and dark over ripe fruit in the aroma. This has an "Old World" feel to the flavor. It is kind of funky, fruity, and yeasty. Still, it is very light and easy to drink. The flavor could be more substantial. Some tart bitterness as the beer warms. I love the lower ABV of this beer. It helps make this beer an excellent summer selection.
