On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy orange pour, with a gold fringe and no head. Little to no detectable aroma. Oh my god. This tastes like half-rotten cereal. Cheerios. Ah. This is ugly. It tastes like sesame and puffed rice. I feel like I’m eating breakfast. It tastes just like Kashi GoLean! Crunch. Gross. Not what I want in a beer. Grainy like nothing on earth has ever been grainy. Cereals, light sweetness, a touch of honey. And oats. Terrible, terrible malt profile. No hops. Ugly. This beer is ugly.

Clever name. Pours a bright copper body under a thin hairline of white. Herbal aroma. Nice malted sweetness to balance a gentle yet noticable hop bittering. Rather a well-done Heller Bock.

Draught. Hazy orange with a small white head. Smells of cereal and fruit (pineapple, pear, etc). Lots of cereal and sweet malt flavour. Fairly clean yeastiness but there are some mild fruity notes.

On tap at the brewpub on 4/27/06: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a light lacing white head. Toasty grainy sweet caramel malty aroma has good German lager yeast character. Body starts with lots of sweet sticky caramel and bitter earthy hops toward the finish. Could use a touch more balance, but is fairly true to style.

The body was orange with a little head. The aroma was caramel and peanuts. There was also some Golden Delicious apples. The taste was caramel with some pecans. A decent Mai bock.
