We pushed our small brewery right to the limit to create this bad boy. We selected half a dozen of our favourite American hops, grown in the Yakima Valley, Washington State, and added bucket loads of each. With twice the hop rate of most of our other beers, it really is very hoppy indeed.

Aroma: floral hops, citrus fruits, grapefruit. Appearance: hazy pale gold, no head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: bitters intensify, nice hops, average-long, slightly dry finish. Overall: beautiful IPA, complex aroma and palate, yet light in ABV. Pint at The Porter, Bath.

Keg @ Euston Tap. Pours murky brown, somewhat muddled taste, lots of hops flying about blending tropical flavours with stone fruit bracing bitter pine but not quite mixing right for me.

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber, with a large off-white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Fresh pine, grapefruit and lychee hops mix with mild white bread malt to create the aroma. Strong pine and pepper hops up front soften into lychee leading into the mid-palate. This features white bread and mild caramel malt, with grapefruit hops in the finish. A good, solid IPA.

Pours amber with a large, lasting head. Nose shows floral and fruity hops in abundance. Orange blossom, lychee, pear and nectarine with some sweet clean malt underneath. Aggressive flavours, more focussed on grapefruit and pine with a very clean malt profile. An assertive bitterness rolls through the finish. Nice moderately high carbonation.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with an inch of loose white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lime, mango, some caramel - nice hops, not very nuanced. Nicely soft and enveloping in the mouth, medium to low carbonation. More tropical and stone fruit in the taste (yes, yes, "taste") which is sweet with a lick of caramel. Wafts of citrus come in, too. Moderate to high bitterness. Good.

On tap at the Three Tuns, Bristol Apr 2014. Floral and fruit power taking over the aroma. You suspect it to be alcohol-filled, as you have probably learned from drinking other stronger IPAs. Not at all. Slick impression on the palate, endless bitter, yet fruit and not resiny nor hoppy finish. Yummy

On keg. Appearance - golden amber with attractive lacing. Nose - oranges and toffee. Taste - marmalade and possibly lime marmalade. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - good ipa.
